Gratiot Family Practice (Covenant Healthcare) ~ Wall Displays {Mid MIchigan Photographer}

So, it's true, I am a really bad blogger :) There has been so much going on and it's been so busy it seems facebook has been the only thing being updated. Many of you would have already seen this post on facebook, but I thought I'd share it here too since it was so exciting for me!!

As many of you know Gratiot Family Practice, here in Alma has merged with Covenant Healthcare and moved to a new location. The new office is amazing!! What’s even more exciting for me is my work is being displayed in the new office!! Here are some pictures of us getting the wall displays up for the Community Open House. My photos can be found in Lisa Bigelow’s rooms (3 of them) as well as the baby weigh stations. I have an assortment of my newborn, baby, children’s, and family work on display and as you can see much of it is featured in black and white. The Community Open House was June 15th, and there were about 700 people to walk through the new office.

So... take a peek at the Displays, you might see some familiar faces :)
This first one is of Adam hanging the first group of photos. (Thank you so much Adam for hanging the displays, that is an art form in itself of which I am thankful for your expertise!!)

Finished Grouping #1

This 16x24 Canvas is in the same room as the first grouping. This is one of my favorite newborn photos, it is awesome to see it displayed this large :)

Thank you to Gratiot Family Practice and Lisa Bigelow for featuring my work in their new office, I am truly honored to have it on display. I know it has been very exciting for my clients to see their photos on display as well :)

Welcome Home SPC Hammerle {Mid Michigan Photographer}

First off, I want to thank all of the service men and woman who serve our great Country!! Thank you to you and your families for the sacrifice you make on all our behalves!! God Bless!!

So a little history…I first met Alex in the Fall of 2007 to take his Senior pictures. When I met him, Becky became apart of my life too. She came along for his Senior shoot and we took photos of both of them together at both his senior shoot and hers a few years later. Since then I have become a regular in the family for senior pictures and the last to be in front of my camera was Alex’s brother Ryan. When Becky contacted me at the end of last year and told me about what she had in mind and asked me to do this, she sent me the sweetest email and I just sat there and cried. Truly to be apart of watching the Hammerle’s and Becky welcome Alex home… I wouldn’t miss it!! I felt greatly honored to be apart of this and was thankful to share in this moment.
I also firmly believe as it says in Romans, "We have different gifts according to the grace given us" Romans 12:6 and that God calls us to use our talents and this was an opportunity when I could do something for another family that gives such a great sacrifice to our country.

As anyone who is in the military knows, the exact day and hour of that return is unknown, so I marked off the 4 days we knew it could possibly happen in and Becky and I have been texting back and forth and Hayley literally was sleeping with her phone…lol. Sunday during church (sorry I had to keep the phone on during church for this one) the official text came that he would be catching an earlier flight and we were on our way. I have never been so nervous myself for a shoot, not only was the family pacing at the airport but so was I. I knew I was going to be emotional too, how could you not be? We weren’t able to get through security so we were just outside the security check in. The “photographer” in me saw the worst lighting situation I have ever been in, but as I looked at all the people standing around me, the parents, the sister, the brother, the girlfriend, the grandparents, the thankful Americans, I knew “the emotional value of these images FAR out weighed any technical value they could ever hold.” I was just honored to be there and thankful to witness this moment!!

Welcome Home Alex, thank you for serving our Country!!

Here is Mom, Dad, and Grandpa checking the flight schedule. They all made several trips to view the schedule!!

This was that moment when people started getting off his flight, the look on Mom and Grandma's face as they look back at Becky is priceless...

I can still see her jumping up and down!! Love this moment!!

My favorite...

Becky, Mom, Dad, and Grandma all joining in to welcome home Alex!!

Here is a complete video of the return home. If you haven't already, now would be a good time to grab some tissues. Remember to TURN OFF MAIN BLOG MUSIC before starting video. Main Music is located at the bottom of the blog.

Merry Christmas {Mid Michigan Photographer}

"Believe" in the magic of Christmas...

I hope this finds you all enjoying your last few days before Christmas :) Yes, you have seen this image before, it was actually taken last winter after Christmas and so this year it graced the front of our Christmas cards. I think it will always be a favorite of mine as the simple words my children are holding are so much apart of what the Christmas season is all about. There is pure "Magic" in these simple words. I hope you and your family have a very Magical and Blessed Christmas!!
And above all, I hope the true meaning of CHRISTmas is near and dear to your heart this holiday season.
God Bless,
Hayley

I also want to take a moment to thank you all for being a blessing in my life this past year. I am so thankful for each and everyone of you who allow me into your lives to capture your special moments. 2010 was a year of blessings for my business and I am very excited to see where 2011 takes me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

And Happy New Year!!

Office will be closed from Thursday Dec. 23rd ~ Monday Jan. 3rd. I will return all emails and phone calls after the 3rd.

Also, just a reminder applications for Class of 2012 Senior Reps are due soon. For information on that, see blog post HERE.

The "B" Family {Mid Michigan Family Photographer}

This past August, the "B" family came from Bay City, Michigan to have me photograph their family here in Alma. I showed you a few pictures of their little guy by himself right after their session, but have not shared any of their family photos yet. I absolutely loved their session, so many beautiful memories were made. There little guy was such a dream to photograph and their family photos are full of love and laughter. I walked away from that session feeling inspired and refreshed. Thank you for letting me be apart of your families memories :)
They ended up ordering a lot of large wall portraits for their home in black and white, so I am going to post a series of black and whites for this post. Even though, I promise, I did do color images too...lol :)

These image melt my heart!! What I would give to have images of my family like this!!

The look of wonder and excitement on his face, I just adore in this one. I just love photographing children, they are so honest and refreshing!!

Can you hear the laughter...love this!!

I adore these, there were a few like this, but this was the one they selected for a large print.

And here is the whole series of little man "D" bring his mom a flower, I adored this moment so much had to put it in a storyboard. :)

Next time, I'll share some of the little guy by himself, I love those images too!! Such a beautiful session!!
Till next time...
