Celebration of Freedom

So I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing 4th of July weekend!! We had a nice weekend and for me a weekend of first. I finally got to try my hand at photographing some fireworks. Our neighboring town put on a small fireworks display Saturday night and since my photog friend Sherry had just posted some notes and tips on fireworks photography in a small forum I am in I thought I'd give it a try. It was certainly a learning experience, but it's always fun to try something new and next time I hope to be better at it :) Thanks again Sherry for the tips :) I was hoping to get multiple bursts in the air, but they didn't do any like that, not even for the grand finale, so it was lots of individual bursts, but hey, I was glad to get any of them to turn out at all ;)

So since we are celebrating freedom this weekend, I thought I'd share these images that speak of another freedom as well. The other night as I was coming home from the park with my kids I noticed this display in a farmers corn field. Luckily I had my camera!! What a site this was to see with the sun going down behind them. So here I am pulled off to the side of the road snapping away. What a wonderful thing this farmer has done, displaying the 3 crosses on a busy road where everyone can see it each day and be reminded what Christ did on the cross for us. We have freedom in Christ, he paid the price for each and everyone of us and I am thankful each and everyday for that.

They are the same image but I loved the panoramic crop showing more of the field and tree line, but the closeup is also very moving.

till next time...
