Featured Senior ~ Miranda AHS {Mid Michigan Senior Photographer}

Miranda was my first rep for class of 2013 and we actually started her session in march of 2012 which is the earliest I have ever done a rep session. We had some crazy warm weather in March and so we went ahead and got in 1 of her sessions. Miranda is a dancer as you can see and her dance photos were very important to her.   I love how we were able to incorporate track and dance though for her session...so fun. Probably not so fun for her to be doing crazy jumps on a track but the results were one of a kind :)

This first series of photos is one of my all time favorite senior pics.  I love the layered look of her clothes and necklace and her hair was beautiful (Thanks Shelby).

Alma High School - Class of 2012 - Senior Rep {Mid Michigan Senior Photographer}

Wow, have I been slacking on the blogging!! Well we are going to make up for that right now with some gorgeous images of my Class of 2012 Senior Rep from Alma High School. I'd love to introduce to you, the 1 and only and absolutely STUNNING Melanie Yost!! Mel and I have been trying to do our rep session for a few weeks but Michigan still thinks it's winter and so it's been a tad frustrating. Well last weekend we said to heck with it and braved the cold for a few shots. We are going to meet up again this weekend to do a few more shots I had in mind the required us to not be blown over by the excess cold winds and snow...lol. But I must say after our "quick" session we just had I am beyond excited to get her in front of my camera again!!

There is a house down the road from me, every year her yard is covered in these flowers but they only last for about a week or so. I had this shot in mind for Mel but I knew if we didn't do it this past weekend the flowers would be gone. So Mel is laying there on the wet ground as snow flakes are dropping on her and it was freezing but I am SO glad she did because I LOVE this shot!!

Mel dances for APA here in downtown Alma. I am always drawn to her dancing when shooting events for APA. I absolutely love to watch her dance and can't wait to do some more dance photos with her this summer. We are going to make a date of it :)

If you are looking for senior pictures that are original and all about YOU, then give me a call!! I am booking summer and fall sessions and my schedule is filling up fast!! Let's tell your senior story :)
Till next time...

Senior Pictures…so much more than just a picture.... {Mid MIchigan Senior Photographer}

Senior pictures…so much more than just a picture.... YOUR story!!
As we are getting even closer to 2012 senior season being in full swing I want to share a few thoughts for you about what senior photos truly are to me. As a parent myself, I can tell you that senior photos are a very special time/ milestone in the life of your son or daughter. They aren’t just photographs you have taken for the sake of taking a photograph, they are so much more. They are truly a reflection of who your son or daughter is in this moment of their life. I treat each individual senior as just that, the individual that they are. This is a unique experience for every senior. I get to know each senior so I can plan a session that fits them and their unique style. I want them to look back on this as an experience that expressed them as an individual and tells a story about them. I remember back to my senior photos, we won’t say how long ago that was…lol, but first off the photographer and I had no connection what so ever and the photos did not reflect anything about me as an individual. I knew when I started photographing seniors, I wanted to be original, unique and I wanted the seniors I photographed to have unique photos that truly reflected them. Well, if the photos reflect a unique individual, then they will be unique photos, right. So choosing a photographer for this special moment is more than ever of high importance. One of my 2010 seniors parents, got it, they understood the importance of choosing the right photographers and in part of their thank you letter to me, they said this…“Boy did we ever get lucky when we chose you to take Rebecca's Senior Pictures. I hope other families will make a careful selection for their Senior Pictures because they will indeed last a Lifetime!” Yes, they do last a lifetime!! How sad would it be if you let just anybody takes your son or daughters photos? Sadly this is happening more and more in the digital age we are in. Last year I answered several phone calls where I heard the regret people had because they let a relative, sister, uncle, cousin, friend, (and the list goes on) take their son or daughters senior photos. And now they were calling me to have professional senior photos taken. So as you get ready to book this special “experience” for YOUR senior, think about how important this moment is and that it truly is MORE than just senior pictures.

Featured Senior-Hailee-Class of 2011 {Mid Michigan Senior Photographer}

Hailee is a Senior at Alma High School and is representing me for the Class of 2011. You saw images from her Rep session back in April, but I have not shared any from her second session other than on facebook. We did her second session at the beginning of summer, again, still playing catch up on posts :) I have selected a few of my faves and also included a slide show...which is a mix of both her sessions. These videos are probably my most popular add on item for seniors. They are awesome for open houses and you also get a low res file for facebook.

Alma High School - Class of 2011 - Senior Rep {Michigan Senior Photographer}

It is my pleasure to introduce to you Hailee Chubb. Hailee is my Class of 2011 Senior Rep for Alma High School.

Hailee's rep session happened on what was quite possibly the windiest day I've ever seen in Michigan. I was waiting for the tornado to touch down or for us all to blow away...LOL. But she was an absolute trooper!! We worked through it and used the wind to our advantage to create some gorgeous photos :) She is Absolutely STUNNING and it is my pleasure to have her represent me for Alma High School.

Ask her how you can receive free goodies for your senior session...or in the next couple weeks she will have rep cards with one of these photos on it, grab one from her, turn it in at the time of booking your session, and you will receive some special offers.

Thank you again to you and your mom for hanging out with me....you absolutely rocked this session :)
