Sweet Baby "E" {Michigan Baby Photographer}

As I am sure many of you have noticed, I am a little behind these days in sneak peeks and blogging. I do thank all of you who faithfully check in on my blog :) I will try to be better so you aren't coming by and seeing no new posts :)

So...anyway, here are a few sneak peeks of a sweet little 6 month old.
This first one, I adore. Beautiful baby and a beautiful backdrop, with all the tall grass and the bridge blurred in the background. I have a wedding at this park in August, can't wait!! It's a gorgeous location!!

When we first started shooting she kept pulling at her dress. I love how at this age they are so aware of their surroundings and so curious about everything. I love to sit back and watch it all through my lens.

This one I loved so much both ways, in color and in b&w, so guess what, you get to see it both ways :). That serious little look on her face just gets me.

Thanks for stopping by :)
Till next time...

Waiting on thier Hero. A special post of thanks to all of those who serve our Country!!

I mentioned awhile back that I had a session that I couldn't wait to share, but had to keep it on the down low :) Well I just got word that it is now safe to share and it really couldn't be more perfect timing with Flag Day being in a few days. :) This truly was a very special session for me. It ALWAYS means so much to me to be apart of my clients lives and capture the moments of their life for them, but this session took on some extra special meaning. You see, daddy is in the Army and is stationed right now in Afghanistan. When the mom called me and told me what she wanted to do photos of their daughter to send him, I was beyond honored to be able to share in this. We did the session and I have to say God gave us a lovely warm day for the pics. We were even able to get outside and normally in Michigan around the time we shot, which was the beginning of April, it just wouldn't happen.
As I was watching the DVDs back before mom picked it up, my son read the sign on the opening slide that says "I love you Daddy" and he then asked what it was for. I told him that this little girls daddy was off keeping our country safe. As I tried to explain to him in terms a little one could understand, I got a bit teary eyed. I can't tell you how grateful I am to the military families in this country. The sacrifices your families make to keep our country safe is heroic. I am also grateful that this mom contacted me to capture their baby girl. I hope that through these pictures and slide show, the things he is missing as he is away will be brought close to his heart for a brief moment until he comes home.

In conversing back and forth with the Mom, as I said, she let me know a few days ago that she had finally received word from her hubby that he got everything. But I have to say the rest of what she wrote to me literally brought tears to my eyes. I asked her if I could share, and she was kind enough to let me.

Hi Hayley!

"I talked to my husband today. He LOVED the pictures! Absolutely loved them! He said it is the only other thing he takes with him when he goes on missions... other than his wedding ring and dog tags! How awesome is that! Thanks so much for all of this. Seriously, you'll never know how much this meant to our family. You have been SUCH a blessing."

"C", thank you again for letting me be apart of making this happen for your hubby. And thank you to you, and to ALL the military families for the sacrifices you make. God Bless!!

Here are a few photos from the session. Daddy also received a mini brag book full of photos from the session. And yes, it ended up being just the right size to keep close to his heart!! :)

And here is the DVD video that Daddy received :)

J&R Engagement Sneak Peek (Michigan Wedding Photographer)

I know there is a couple that is anxiously awaiting this sneak peek :) This engagement session was loads of fun!! J&R were so much fun to hang out with and as you can see from the first set of pictures, up for anything :) They are a beautiful couple filled with love and happiness. J has such an infectious smile and I can still hear her saying, "I am just happy". I loved that :) But I think what I took the most from this session, was 2 people very much in love. You can see it and feel it in these photos. It is my privilege to be apart of their wedding, can't wait till August guys!! Enjoy your pics :)

So yep, this is right downtown. Like I said, we had lots of fun!!

Do you feel the happiness...love this!!

We were almost rained out, but took cover for awhile at this location, which made for some awesome pics :) The rain held out for us and as we were done for the evening as I was driving away it started raining pretty hard, so perfect timing.

Having a little fun with the Polaroids again ;)

Hope you guys enjoyed your sneak peek. Let me know what you think :)
I will load them on facebook for you soon :)

Dance Dance and more Dance :) (Michigan Photographer)

Dance recital week is in full swing around here and I have had the pleasure to be apart of it in more than 1 way. Not only as a parent but a photographer. I was asked by the APA studio director to take pictures this year of rehearsals, recital, etc. So far we have 2 nights of rehearsal behind us and so I thought I'd share a few pics from the rehearsals. I have been sifting through tons of photos, so there are many more to come. :) Here a just a couple pics and then a short video :)

Love this one :) Shows her grace, power, and strength in 1 shot. Love the movement too. Can ya tell I love this one...LOL ;)

Here's 1 from backstage.

I could do 1 whole post on this girls solo dance. It truly was pure art to watch!!

Also...here is a small video of the first few nights. I am still sorting through tons of pics and will do more videos as we get through the whole week. :)
