Tis the Season...Miss L

Yes I know that technically today is Halloween...but I have been working on this adorable little girls first Christmas photos and every time I go past these ones I just SMILE!! They are so so cute!! I truly am a firm believer that...
"Children can create a shot for you if you let them"
Yup just be patient and let them do their thing and that's when you get the most "real" shots that honestly are usually the best. I ADORE these!! This is exactly the sequence of how it happened too, she got the hat stuck down around her face and by the time she got it back up she was all smiles :) I did a couple storyboard designs with these shots too that will be proofed, they are just too cute to not display all together :)

There are SO many beautiful and cute shots to come of this little one. Stay tuned :)
So here is Miss L as I will call her...what a sweetie pie!!

More "A"

Here is more from my recent senior shoot. "A" is involved in lots of sports so we got to do some very cool fun stuff. Snowboarding is not something I know much about BUT I am very excited about the way this turned out.

Be Driven...

I recently had the privilege of photographing a senior that is big into sports. We photographed several of the sports he participates in but the one we focused on the most was golf. I am only posting 1 today, there will be more golf and other sports images to come but this one I feel is a very special image. When I see it there are so many words that come to mind...

Drive

Achievement

Strength

Goals

Ambition

Power

...you get where I'm going with this!! I knew when we were at the golf course at this tee that it was going to be something special. Sometimes you just know!!

I could not wait to get home and see how this one turned out...I hope you see the art and the message that I see when you look at this photo!!

Caught in Action...

So...I just had a recent senior shoot and the family was SO much fun!! Normally I have to tell you having such an audience at a shoot would really make me nervous but these guys were great, they made me feel like part of the family and I had a blast!! I thought it would be fun for you to see what a shoot looks like from their perspective so here are a few pics that were taken. I honestly would love to give whoever took these credit, but I am not even sure which one of you took them :) We had Mom, Dad, an Uncle, the Girlfriend, Grandpa and even a few golf carts at one point and time ;). Yes the golf shots will be coming soon :) I am sure there is either video or a picture of me laying on the green to get one of the pictures I got...ha ha!! This is why you will see me dressed very casual for shoots. I am always laying on the ground or the cement (which you will see), whatever it takes for different perspectives or angles. Hey anything for that perfect shot :)

BetterPhoto Finalist-Update

1 contest I like to enter is called BetterPhoto. It is a large photo community where you can have an online gallery and enter their daily photo contest. Last month there were 38,000 photos submitted to this contest. From those photos they narrow the field down to a certain amount of finalist so it's not that you win anything for getting a finalist it's just the recognition of your photo being chosen is a big deal in itself. But sometimes you go on even further to get a 1st or 2nd place and that is truly an honor as well. I have not updated my BP status in the last few months so here are my last 2 months of finalist.
"3" was announced today for Septembers People category. There were 92 total people finalist chosen.

And "Confidence" was chosen last month as an August finalist. This is one of my seniors I had the privilege of photographing this past summer. I love this one of her!! What a killer look :)

Mother and her Daughters...

Here is a sneak peek of some very beautiful twins who I photographed recently and their beautiful Mother. I know they look like they could be seniors, but they are not, these are special photos they do every year to capture Mother-Daughter moments (and we have some of Dad and the daughters to show later).
But for now here are a few of the girls and Mom just in the moment just enjoying their special friendship :)

You are never too old to enjoy a good throwing of some leaves...how fun was this!!! And this one is one of my very favorites but it probably not for everybody. This is a very contemporary style of photography with the sun flare shooting down through the picture. I love the "feel" it gives an already great moment of life just being captured. They were full of laughter and this capture is just special!!

Life Is...Beautiful!!!

Woke up this morning to some fog and through the fog was this absolutely glorious light that was creating a beautiful sunhaze and of course I had to capture it...
God's natural light...it doesn't get any better than that!!

Senior Style!!!

Just wanted to say a thank you to the seniors who have graced my new senior business cards. :) These are front and back folded business cards and wow was it hard picking photos from your sessions!!
As an extra thank you if you are on my business card you will get a free set of wallets of the picture that is on the business card...so if you are on it twice, then you get 2 sets of wallets :) Just my way of saying thank you for your business!

This batch was printed on textured pearl paper, which I am still not sure if I am in love with that paper so I may reprint them before giving them out, but here is what they look like folded...
